A beautiful serenade to Brisbane. RÜFÜS DU SOL brought the sunshine to a rainy day with their Solace tour hitting the Riverstage on Saturday evening.
The cloud hung low threatening heavy rain, but the crowds weren’t deterred with the sold-out venue reaching capacity. RÜFÜS DU SOL, the electro-rock trio, delivered the feels with a live performance that demonstrated how they have captivated the globe with their unique sound.
Returning home to Australia after touring the USA, they performed favourites like “Innerbloom” & “You Were Right” as part of an hour-long set where the entire audience was determined to drown out Tyron’s vocal prowess with their own renditions of their favourite Rüfüs tunes.
The rain came in hard along the bank of the Brisbane river, and was welcomed by heavy applause. Mascara running, clothes clinging to sweat & rain-soaked skin, and mud compiling on the bottom of 9000 pairs of docs, the crowd worshiped at the feet of their idols on stage.
The solace tour was a colourful combination of rhythm, epic percussion, unique sound and an enthralling light display where you could literally hear, feel and see the music.
I, like all of us present that night, was lost on the moment, in the rain, in the sound. And we thank you, RÜFÜS DU SOL, for a spectacular evening.
