As a recreation space within Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Centennial Parklands are a lush playground for kids - big and little alike. Featuring ponds, formal gardens, woodlands, grassland and open areas enclosed by running slopes and cliffs, the parklands are devoted to native plants and diverse flora and fauna, including significant tree plantings such as Port Jackson figs, Holm oaks and Norfolk Island pines dating back to the early 1900s. Since 1888, this recreation space stands as a grand park for interactive playgrounds, statues, historic buildings, BBQ sporting fields and horse riding facilities.
